Hi there,
I'm Gabi.
A Certified Practising Speech Pathologist working across Melbourne with children, adolescents, and young adults, and the families, schools, and clinicians around them.
I hold an Honours degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Sydney, where my research thesis revising the Pragmatics Profile was published (as Gabi Herman) in the International Journal of Language & Communication Disorders. The experience shaped the way I think about practice: communication is meaningful when it works in real life, not just on a clinic worksheet.
My clinical work is grounded in evidence-based assessment and intervention, with a focus on functional outcomes across educational and everyday contexts. I work with clients aged approximately four years and older, including individuals with autism, intellectual disability, ADHD, dyslexia, and language-based learning differences.
I have a particular clinical interest in school-aged and adolescent language, literacy, and social communication, including the higher-level language skills that impact academic participation and peer relationships during the years they matter most.
Alongside my one-on-one practice, I conduct ADOS-2 assessments in conjunction with paediatricians as part of multidisciplinary autism evaluation.
